Winter 2012

The Winter issue of Cape May Magazine is a wonderland of delight from beginning to end, even if I do say so myself. As per usual, the very talented Karen Fox brings us the touching story of Mr. Christmas. It is a tale of how one man – Greg Yacabell – renewed his spirit after suffering from an aneurism which paralyzed him at age 39. The story will renew your spirit as well.

No one knows the world of the B&B better than Linda Fowler. She once again guides us on a tour of the island’s most beautifully decorated inns. Trimming the Tree the Cape May Way is a fun journey and will inspire you to get in the attic and start decorating.

For you history buffs. We did not disappoint this issue. Architectural historian Joan Berkey shares excerpts from a book she co-authored with Dr. Joe Salvatore (director of the Naval Air Station Wildwood Aviation Museum) U.S. Coast Guard Training Center at Cape May due to launch December 10. The current site of the country’s only recruit training center started out as an amusement park and it has had several other face changes in its history. We’re sure you’ll find it a fascinating read.
